It's hard to really explain what the difference is between "can and could"
And "would and will"

 

But could is more ...hmm, polite if you are asking someone to do something.

 

Like "can you help me find this restaurant?"

"Could you (please) help me find this restaurant?"

 

You can use both, there's not much difference.

Is it possible or not.

Not if it will happen or not.

"If someone told you to jump from a building, would you? "

You usually use would instead of "will you" if it's a weird question like this.

If someone asked you to leave your children, could you do it?"

It's like a possibility, you're asking if they have the ability to do it.
